DJS Research Ltd Selected For High Growth Programme

We have recently been selected for a place on the 2010 East Midlands Coaching for High Growth programme.

Coaching for High Growth is an intensive package of support funded by East Midlands Development Agency (emda) to help ambitious and forward thinking businesses to unlock and sustain their high growth potential.

Demand for places on the programme was extremely high with the East Midlands Development Agency receiving over 100 applications from businesses in the region. Each business was assessed for potential growth (to achieve sales growth of 20% or above per annum for a three year period) and the extent to which the programme could help businesses realise this potential.

DJS Research Ltd was one of 50 companies selected that will now receive a package of support for the next 12 months. The programme is designed to help us overcome barriers to growth and capitalise on existing strengths.

Simon Hall, Programme Manager for Coaching for High Growth said “We have had a fantastic response and we are really looking forward to working with these ambitious and progressive businesses to help them realize their growth aspirations”.

DJS Research Ltd Helps Bright Prospects in the Local Community

During July 2010, DJS Research Ltd was pleased to welcome two year 10 students, Thilina Prathapasin and Jordan Murphy, into its Whaley Bridge offices to take part in the company’s inaugural work experience scheme.

The work experience scheme is led by Dan Williams, Senior Research Executive and former pupil of New Mills School, and supported by Danny Sims, Managing Director of DJS Research, whose children are educated locally. The purpose of the scheme is to provide local students with an insight into the workings of a successful agency whilst providing valuable experience to furnish future job and academic applications.

Dan Williams, Senior Research Executive, DJS Research Ltd said:
“The scheme has been a great success. The students were enthusiastic and willing to learn and had a positive impact on the office environment. Having been through both academic and job recruitment procedures myself, I know first-hand how valuable this experience will be to the students.”

Danny Sims, Managing Director, DJS Research Ltd said:
“Over the past few years, DJS Research has grown exponentially, however we have always taken time to give back to the local community and will continue to do so. Having these two intelligent young men in the office has been a refreshing experience and they have made a real contribution to our work. And, it is of course, always good to keep an eye on the bright prospects of the future!”

The company has experienced an exceptional year of growth with turnover now very close to the £1 million mark.

"I believe now, more than ever, clients are looking to stretch their research budgets and achieve "more for less", which is something that we offer at DJS. We are competitive but offer senior Directors/Researchers from start to finish, who are able to deliver insightful results."

Senior Research Executive Lyn Allen who has recently joined the team, said "I am excited to be part of DJS Research's future plans. It is an innovative, forward thinking agency, with many bright ideas that demonstrate it knows how to survive challenging times."

Moving into the new financial year, Managing Director Danny Sims is optimistic about the future and confident that the company can achieve future growth targets and their aim to build the strongest research team in the North West.

DJS Research Helps Remote British Overseas Territory Attract Retirees

St Helena is one of the most remote islands in the world and is currently only accessible by sea. Earlier this year, the British government postponed plans to build an airport on the island, and thus they face a real challenge in attracting investment to the Island.  DJS Research was approached to help understand how the Island could attract retirees.

Results from the study have shown that the climate and beauty of the island, as well as its relaxed pace of life, appealed to UK retirees, although as expected many were concerned by the limited access to the island.  However, a clear niche was identified who found this limited access appealing and were less concerned about the practical issues.

Linda Houston, Managing Director, SHDA, comments: “I am delighted with the work DJS Research has done on this project. The final report has given us great insight into the potential retirement market here in St Helena.

“DJS provided us with a highly professional, courteous service, which delivered the results on time and to budget. What's more they did it with flare and in a way which was totally appropriate for the clientele.

We never met and yet were able to work together from a location 1200 miles from the nearest land mass and two weeks travel away from the UK. This not only shows the power of the internet, but also that if you get your customer care right from the start, anything is possible.”

For the full press release, please call Dan Williams on 01663-767857

Business to Business Market Research

International Market Research

They are part of a series of planned websites aimed at promoting some of our specific services and areas of expertise. Do have a look and let us have any feedback.

October 2007
We have successfully recruited another Research Director to join the team. He has 13 years research experience and is an all round researcher. More details will be announced when he starts, which will be January 2008.

We feel this is a great achievement - we were up against 20 other market research companies and in two of our winning categories we came first!

May 2007
DJS in the news! The Market Research Society (MRS) kindly published our news item about the research we are conducting with the Jeanette Crizzle Trust (which is detailed below).
